Jardín del Laberinto Viejo o Jardín de la Cruz – Garden of the Old Labyrinth or Garden of the Cross
Aquí se encontraba el antiguo Jardín del Laberinto del siglo XVI que desapareció en 1910. La fuente es el único elemento que se conserva del anterior diseño. Representa el Monte Parnaso y tuvo como decoración figuras de alegorías mitológicas que servían de surtidores. El conjunto, hoy mermado, representaría al dios Apolo rodeado de las nueve musas.
A este jardín se accede a través del Jardín de las Flores o desde el Jardín de las Damas, atravesando la Puerta de Hércules. Se conoce así por la escena mitológica pintada en la parte superior de la puerta que representa la lucha de Hércules y Anteo.
Here was the old garden of the labyrinth of the XVI century that disappeared in 1910. The source is the only element that is retained from the previous design. It represents the Mount Parnassus and took as decoration of allegories mythological ßgures that served of jets. The whole, today diminished, and represent the god Apollo surrounded by the nine Muses.
You can reach this garden through the Garden of Flowers or from the Garden of the Ladies, walking through the door of Hercules. It is known well by the mythological scene painted on the top of the door that represents the ßght of Hercules and Antaeus.
